1201 17th Ave SW has had quite the historical journey in Calgary. Originally opened in the late 1960’s as the Prairie Dog Inn (PDI) it first served as a primo Mexican joint before it turned Italian. However, as more and more Italian dishes were introduced into the menu, it was renamed and rebranded to Buon Giorno in 1987. A few years later, Buon Giorno was sold to Gabriele Battistessa who, with the help of his brother Giorgio, turned it into the place so many have come to know and love today.
